Clan wars and clans
No tanker should fight alone, and that’s why it’s possible to form large clans in the game. Members of these guild-like structures from other multiplayer games can take part in so-called Clan Wars. These team-based wars include two features: the Stronghold and the Global Map. Each clan can build its own stronghold which offers various bonuses such as faster experience or credit gain. Clan structures can be upgraded using industrial resources gained in battles against other clans. On the global map, which is divided into fronts for different vehicle tiers (tier 6, 8, and 10), individual battles are fought. A clan can gain territory by participating in tournaments and battles against other clans. Territories generate gold rewards that contribute to clan development.

World of Tanks first appeared on the esports scene during the 2012 World Cyber Games. The official tournament series is the Wargaming.net League, held across CIS, APAC, EU, and NA regions.
