Funky Time launched in 2023 as a spin-off of the original Crazy Time, which players around the world love to play. Funky Time, however, offers unique elements that make it attractive and highly sought after.

The Funky Time style

This live game blends several styles to create a unique atmosphere. You’ll spot elements of 1960s American bars (especially in the Disco bonus), neon light frames nodding to the 1980s, and a modern take on the money wheel filled with bold elements and tempting segments. Hosts rotate every 30 minutes and guide the show with a golden microphone in hand. Eye-catching colorful costumes are part of the experience too.

Game rules

Unlike Crazy Time, this game’s wheel features 10 more betting segments. There are 64 segments placed on the so‑called DigiWheel. So it’s not a physical wheel spinning—the action plays out on a large circular screen. That brings not only visual effects but also fun animations. The goal remains the same: to guess which segment the wheel will land on after the “spin.” Players bet on one of the segments, which—if successful—multiplies their payout. They have roughly 15 seconds to place new bets before the wheel spins again. At the bottom of the screen are preset bet amounts you can place during the game, along with buttons to double or clear them. The base bet is set to 10 cents (when using US dollars), though the exact amount may vary depending on the currency supported by a given online casino.

Placing bets

When placing bets, players choose from 6 types of segments they believe will be selected in the next round. 28 of them show the number 1 and this segment returns the stake to the player. On 24 segments (2x 12) there are letters that together form the phrase: „PLAY FUNK TIME.“ The remaining twelve segments are devoted to the bonus games Stayin’ Alive, Bar, Disco, and VIP Disco, as shown in the table below. You can also bet on all bonuses at once—placing your chosen amount on all 4 bonus games—or on all letters, which means betting on all 12 letters.

Bet returns

RTP represents the theoretical long-term return. The most accurate figures are those calculated from actual odds and payouts—i.e., for the number 1 or letter segments. If a bonus hits, the round continues until the bonus mini-game ends, and the final payout depends on many factors.

Random multipliers

Without multipliers, player returns would be very small, which is why several multipliers are selected at the start of each round, which then multiply random wheel segments (the segments are also chosen at random). The lowest multiplier in the game is 3x, and the highest is up to 50x. The maximum potential win is capped at 500 000 $ (more than 11 million crowns).

Bonus games

These mini bonus games can deliver mega bonus wins. Only players who placed a bet on the specific bonus before the spin can take part. Other players simply watch and wait for the next regular round. If you bet on all bonuses at once, your chance to win rises to 18,76%.

Bar

Although this bonus triggers most often in Funky Time, it usually brings lower or medium payouts. When it hits, the host moves to the studio area called Bar, where a robot bartender serves. The host asks it to mix a drink, and the robot prepares three glasses for players to choose from. The glasses are then filled with a drink with random multipliers from 2 to 20, and finally one of them is “garnished” with an extra multiplier of 2–5x. If a player doesn’t select in time, the choice is made automatically.

Stayin‘ Alive

This bonus features a giant transparent device from which balls are drawn in black, orange, pink, or green. Above it sits a board listing multipliers from 5 to 1,000 in descending order, which can be further boosted before the round starts. At the beginning, all players have 4 lives and choose one color (except black). If black is drawn, all players lose a life and remain on the lowest rung of the board. If a colored ball with the number 1 is drawn, players whose color was selected move up one step. With balls marked 2, they move up two steps. The maximum win here can reach x10 000. The game ends when a player reaches this top bonus or the last player loses their final life.

Disco

In this bonus, the host steps into the Disco section and approaches the DJ booth. The dance floor is divided into 37 tiles, starting in the center with Mr. Funky. The host first spins a mini-wheel in the shape of a vinyl record divided into 8 parts marked with directions left, right, up, and down (each direction appears twice). Depending on where the mini-wheel stops, Mr. Funky moves around the dance floor. His steps can lead to:

• Landing on multiplier tiles: These tiles have 1x, 2x, and 5x values, with x20 and x100 occasionally on the edges, and your win is multiplied
• Landing on a tile marked „X“: In this case, five random multipliers on the dance floor are doubled.
• Stepping off the dance floor: This happens if Mr. Funky is on the edge and the next spin points him outward.
• Landing on an empty tile: When Mr. Funky steps on a multiplier, that tile becomes empty for the next two spins. On the third spin, its original value is restored.

VIP Disco

This variant differs only slightly from Disco. The dance floor has 63 tiles and the multipliers are much higher. While the center tiles carry lower values, the edges feature x10, x20, x30, and x100. The gameplay is otherwise identical to Disco.

Best strategies

If players want to increase their chances of winning, it pays to follow a preselected strategy. Although the house edge is real, in the short term you can tilt luck a bit in your favor. RTP values aren’t applicable to short sessions. These betting strategies help you avoid loss-making bets and reduce risk. No strategy is ever 100% effective.

Bets on numbers

At first glance, this strategy doesn’t seem very profitable since the wheel only has 1x multipliers. But if a multiplier lands on that segment, its value increases—and so does the player’s final win. Over a relatively short period, this approach can result in a nice payout.

Bets on letters

If players bet on all letters, they have a 37,5% chance, which isn’t bad at all. If the wheel then does land on a letter, they win 25 times their original stake—which can add up nicely over time.

Bets on bonuses and numbers

This strategy has players place five units on the number 1 segments and one unit on each bonus. If a 1 hits, they win five units and lose four. If a bonus hits, the payout is much higher. The only risk is the remaining letters, where players would lose all nine units staked.
