Two years ago, in 2021, a well-known skin trader (ZipelCS) became fed up with most online marketplaces. He joined forces with other like-minded individuals and together they founded the peer-to-peer marketplace SkinBid. They aimed for a simple user interface and easy trading between players.
After getting through quite a lengthy registration, we must say, they succeeded. You will find many offers here, each with the possibility to negotiate the price. As for selling, it’s just a pity about the high fee (8%). The site is especially suitable for selling very expensive items (above €1,500, the fee is reduced to 3.5%). We can assure you that SkinBid is not a scam, but here caution is due against fraudsters who may pose as trading bots of this platform on Steam. Remember, SkinBid is only a mediator and the trade on Steam happens directly between the buyer and the seller. Always double-check who you are sending your skin to.
The SkinBid marketplace allows registration only using your Steam account. After logging in, you will also need to enter and then confirm your email address. To unlock the option to select and shop, you will need to go through the KYC process (identity verification). Before selling or buying, you also need to insert your Steam Trade url and your Steam API key (which enables communication between the platform and your Steam account, important for confirming trades).
The SkinBid platform does not offer any bonuses. If you are excited by the thrill of gambling and like to receive bonuses, check out the overview of the best deposit bonuses in casinos.
Deposit can only be made using your payment card (VISA, Mastercard, Maestro, and others) or phone payment (GooglePay, ApplePay). Withdrawal is conducted by bank transfer.
Selling on the SkinBid site is indeed simple. You select an item from the offer, fill in the desired price, and list it. Once a buyer is found, you must personally send the item via Steam. Meanwhile, SkinBid as a mediator holds your money. Once the sale is confirmed, the amount is transferred to your bank account. In comparison to the competition, SkinBid has a relatively high selling fee: 8% (for offers above €1,500, this fee is reduced to 3.5%).
By clicking on the selected item, you can examine it closely on the site. Additionally, there is also a price development graph available and a list of similar offers. If the set price does not suit you, you can try to offer the seller a different one.
Unfortunately, the SkinBid marketplace with skins does not offer any special VIP program.
The service provider of the marketplace is a registered company. One of the co-founders is the well-known skin trader ZipelCS.
